Role-Electrical Engineer

Location Fort Worth, TX (Onsite role)

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Designs Electrical System diagrams including harnesses.
  • Works closely with other engineers on routing harnesses and placing electronic modules.
  • Programs embedded modules (logical visual programming language).
  • Assembles and tests experimental wiring harnesses, electronic modules, and other electrical equipment and components.
  • Troubleshoots electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations.
  • Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunctions or failures of operational equipment and performs preventive and corrective actions.
  • Works from wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansion and performs installation.
  • Adjusts and replaces defective or improperly functioning circuitry and electronics components, using hand tools and soldering iron.
  • Tests electronics units, using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment.
  • Plans, completes, and records periodic electrical testing, and recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.
  • May perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.
  • Maintains working knowledge of state-of-the-art tools or software by reading or attending conferences, workshops or other training.

Essential education, work experience and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical / Electronic engineering or related field. May consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-7 years' experience with electronics systems integration and troubleshooting, test equipment usage including Oscilloscope, multi-meter, protocol analyzers, various power supplies, and some electronic modules programming.
  • Experience with CAD/Circuit design.
  • Must be knowledgeable in building and testing harnesses according to IPC/WHMA-A-620.
  • Knowledge of electronics wire routings.
  • Experience with basic office software including word processing, spreadsheet, Outlook and calendaring.
  • Must have some basic mechanical assembly knowledge.
  • Experience using hand tools is preferred.
