Mainframe Security Analyst

Role: Mainframe Security Analyst
Location: Merrimack, NH / Westlake, TX (Hybrid)

Overview:

We are seeking a Mainframe Security Analyst to join a dynamic enterprise infrastructure team responsible for maintaining and improving mainframe security processes. This role focuses on supporting z/OS security using CA Top Secret, working closely with system programmers and infrastructure teams to ensure a secure and compliant mainframe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in multiple small-scale technical projects with development and operations teams
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with business and technical teams
• Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the mainframe environment through CA Top Secret
• Maintain and enhance internal tools using JCL, Python, REXX, and other scripting languages
• Troubleshoot and resolve mainframe access and security issues
• Support periodic audits and help drive security best practices
• Develop dashboards and reports to provide visibility into security and compliance
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation as part of the support team

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong knowledge of z/OS security with hands-on experience in CA Top Secret
• Familiarity with CA Compliance Manager, CA Cleanup, and CA Compliance Information Analysis
• Experience with scripting languages such as REXX, JCL, Python
• Understanding of ITSM processes and general IT troubleshooting
• Knowledge of DevOps practices
• Strong cross-platform knowledge (e.g., MVS, Linux, Unix)
• Excellent customer service skills and a collaborative mindset
• Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team
• Experience developing processes and standards for audit, compliance, and reporting
