Role: Bidirectional Clinical Data Exchange Architect

Location: Durham, NC (Remote)

Type: Contract

Job Description:

  • The Bidirectional Clinical Data Exchange Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining bidirectional clinical data exchange solutions.
  • This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare interoperability, data exchange standards, and clinical workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architecture Design: Design and develop architecture for bidirectional clinical data exchange solutions to ensure seamless data flow between healthcare systems.
  • Implementation and Configuration: Implement and configure data exchange interfaces and solutions to meet the organization's specific requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including healthcare providers, payers, and IT teams, to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement enhancements.
  • Support and Troubleshooting: Provide support and troubleshooting for data exchange issues, working closely with end-users and IT support teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure compliance with healthcare data exchange standards and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, and others.
  • Training and Knowledge Sharing: Participate in training sessions and knowledge sharing activities to support end-users and promote adoption of best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare IT, with specific expertise in designing and implementing clinical data exchange solutions.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of health data exchange standards (such as HL7, FHIR, CDA, API, EDI, etc.) and clinical data terminologies (such as SNOMED, CPT, LOINC, etc.).
  • Experience with integration platforms and API gateways.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in healthcare interoperability and data exchange.
  • Domain Knowledge: In-depth understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare data management.
