Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and test Powertrain Control Units (PCUs)
  • Write hardware and software specifications
  • Perform confirmation testing on actual vehicles and simulators
  • Troubleshoot and fix related problems
  • Conduct software functional data analysis and generate reports
  • Collaborate with component suppliers and other departments to resolve technical issues
  • Make technical decisions with moderate supervision
  • Work independently and as part of a team to reach project goals
  • Research new technologies and market trends, and make proposals for future products
  • Create a user-friendly version of the LabVIEW UI and refine the functionality of the device

Technical Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in C++ for motor driver and microcontroller programming
  • Experience with servo motors, motor drivers, and magnetic braking systems
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers and inertial measurement units
  • Knowledge of Raspberry Pi systems and camera feed integration
  • Experience with motion capture systems and data synchronization
  • Proficiency in LabVIEW for UI development and debugging
  • Strong understanding of control systems and hardware/software integration
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex electromechanical systems

Additional Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work onsite at Honda facility
  • Valid Ohio driver's license
  • Ability to travel and work overtime as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar
  • 5 years of experience with Powertrain ECU validation (Transmission, Shifter, or FI-ECU preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical hardware and software development
  • Interest in the automotive field and experience in the use of electronic measuring equipment and electrical troubleshooting
