Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and test Powertrain Control Units (PCUs)
- Write hardware and software specifications
- Perform confirmation testing on actual vehicles and simulators
- Troubleshoot and fix related problems
- Conduct software functional data analysis and generate reports
- Collaborate with component suppliers and other departments to resolve technical issues
- Make technical decisions with moderate supervision
- Work independently and as part of a team to reach project goals
- Research new technologies and market trends, and make proposals for future products
- Create a user-friendly version of the LabVIEW UI and refine the functionality of the device
Technical Skills Required:
- Proficiency in C++ for motor driver and microcontroller programming
- Experience with servo motors, motor drivers, and magnetic braking systems
- Familiarity with microcontrollers and inertial measurement units
- Knowledge of Raspberry Pi systems and camera feed integration
- Experience with motion capture systems and data synchronization
- Proficiency in LabVIEW for UI development and debugging
- Strong understanding of control systems and hardware/software integration
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex electromechanical systems
Additional Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work onsite at Honda facility
- Valid Ohio driver's license
- Ability to travel and work overtime as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar
- 5 years of experience with Powertrain ECU validation (Transmission, Shifter, or FI-ECU preferred)
- Strong knowledge of electrical hardware and software development
- Interest in the automotive field and experience in the use of electronic measuring equipment and electrical troubleshooting
