Description
Overview:
The primary responsibility of this role is to optimize the security of the organization's cloud infrastructure and services across multiple cloud providers. This individual will develop and implement security policies, conduct risk assessments, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with IT and engineering teams to identify and mitigate security threats to protect sensitive data and systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in cloud security, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain cloud security policies, standards, and best practices in alignment with industry frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Design and implement cloud security solutions, including Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools and workload protection modules.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and configuration reviews to identify and remediate risks across cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and DevOps teams to integrate security controls into cloud architecture and deployment pipelines.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to cloud security engineers and analysts.
  • Participate in incident response, forensic investigations, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Stay current with emerging threats, technologies, and industry trends related to cloud security.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of cloud security architecture, configurations, and processes.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure security program effectiveness.

Technical Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience securing cloud platforms, with expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform); additional knowledge of Oracle Cloud or IBM Cloud is a plus.
  • Experience with CSPM tools such as Prisma Cloud, Dome9, Wiz, Orca (preferred), Lacework, or Aqua Security.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanners and configuration tools such as Tenable or Rapid7, including scan template configuration and policy management.
  • Understanding of cloud IAM policies, access management, and CASB solutions.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is a plus.
  • Scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automation and remediation tasks are highly desirable.
  • Experience with DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, and integrating security into cloud development lifecycles is a strong plus.
  • Orca experience is highly preferred and would be a key differentiator.

Preferred Certifications:
  • CISSP, CCSK, CCNP Security, CEH, or other relevant security certifications.

Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex security issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and lead security initiatives.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of services and tools at least one or more of core cloud providers, such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform. Additional knowledge of other cloud providers is a plus like Oracle Cloud, and IBM Cloud
  • Experience with CSPM tools like Prisma Cloud, Dome9, Wiz, Orca, Lacework, or Aqua Security is a plpreferred. Comparable experience with vulnerability scanners, such as configuring scan templates, setting scan policies and schedules (such as Tenable, Rapid7) is sufficient. CSPM config ruleset writing or experience developing queries in like tooling is additional comparable knowledge. (posture specific)
  • Any experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM templates is helpful or relative experience
  • Any skills in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks is a plus
  • Any experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef in the past is a plus, not required
  • Any experience with understanding IAM policies or access management/CASB in one more cloud provider is a plus
  • If they have experience with Orca, that is a key differentiator. I would prefer that and any combinational experience in vulnerability management, devops in the cloud.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
