Position: Senior Oracle Linux Administrator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Oracle Linux Administrator with 6 to 10 years of experience to lead enterprise patch management efforts, CVE remediation, and serve as the primary point of contact for Oracle Linux support engagements. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise in Linux systems, patch lifecycle management, and vendor escalation protocols.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the end-to-end process of applying critical and important security patches and bug fixes for Oracle Linux 7.9 and other supported OS packages.

Maintain continuous compliance with internal and external security standards through proactive patching and CVE mitigation.

Provide 24x7 support coverage, ensuring quick response to high-severity incidents and outages.

Handle Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support issues and perform root cause analysis.

Manage and escalate cases to Oracle Support as per Extended Support policies.

Maintain exhaustive documentation for all patch, update, and system modification activities.

Act as a mentor and escalation point for junior Linux administrators.
Required Skills:

6 10 years of deep experience in Oracle Linux administration, patching, and system hardening.

Expertise in CVE analysis, security compliance, and risk assessment.

Strong track record in coordinating with Oracle for service requests and escalations.

Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across complex enterprise Linux environments.

Familiarity with ITIL processes, ticketing systems, and support SLAs.
Preferred:

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent certifications.

Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, finance, government).

Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, etc.) for patch deployment.
