Job Details

Position: Senior Data Analytics SME (Police / DOJ Analytics)

Duration: 1 year

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Role Overview

Provides subject-matter expertise in police and public safety analytics and leads hands-on development of dashboards, data quality analytics, and compliance reporting required by settlement agreements and consent decrees.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years experience performing data analytics for:
  • Police departments, sheriff's offices, or DOJ oversight programs

Strong experience with:

  • SQL Server (complex queries, validation logic)
  • Tableau (dashboard design, calculated fields, parameters)
  • Experience translating policy, consent decree, or DOJ requirements into metrics
  • Experience developing public-facing dashboards
  • Experience performing data quality and audit analytics
  • Ability to mentor junior analysts and document work

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Power BI or GIS tools
  • Familiarity with CAD, RMS, or internal affairs data
  • Experience preparing analytics for public transparency

Scope of Work

Design and build dashboards for:

  • Use of force
  • Stops, searches, citations, and arrests
  • Officer-involved incidents
  • Develop internal dashboards to track compliance progress
  • Create SQL-based data quality and audit queries
  • Define metrics, calculations, and assumptions aligned to policy
  • Validate accuracy and consistency of reported data
  • Produce documentation for dashboard logic and maintenance
  • Mentor internal staff on analytics tools and methods
