Job Summary:

AC4S is seeking a skilled and experienced Operations Manager to play a crucial role in in supporting U.S. Navy ships and submarine maintenance at CONUS and OCONUS locations. In this position, you will mitigate shipboard corrosion control issues, identify solutions, and understand technical requirements for both Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) and Combat Systems, Communications, Computers, Command and Control and Internet (C5I) systems and equipment.

You are responsible for establishing a thorough process for identifying program technical requirements based upon the risks and complexities associated with corrosion control maintenance on-board U.S. Navy vessels.

You will act as the overall lead corrosion control SME, supervise Team Leads, and coordinate task activities to ensure successful completion of TO requirements. You will report on status, needs, and progress. And you will review and update technical documentation and identify and incorporate the latest corrosion control technologies available.

Duties/ Responsibilities:
  • Be responsible for establishing a thorough process for identifying program technical requirements based upon the risks and complexities associated with corrosion control maintenance on-board U.S. Navy vessels.
  • Act as the overall lead corrosion control SME, supervise Team Leads, and coordinate task activities to ensure successful completion of TO requirements.
  • Report on status, needs, and progress.
  • Review and update technical documentation and identify and incorporate the latest corrosion control technologies available.


Skills and Experience:
  • Military experience, completion of trade/industrial school, and/or trade experience.
  • AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector (CIP Level 3) Certification


Desired Experience:
  • 15 years of experience in the corrosion control field supporting U.S. Navy ship and submarine maintenance.
  • Experience with mitigating shipboard corrosion control issues, identifying solutions, and understanding technical requirements for both HM&E and C5I systems and equipment.
  • Experience working with/understanding constraints associated with shipboard corrosion control and preservation maintenance.
  • Experience with surface preparation tools, corrosion control techniques, coating system application tools and coating systems used on-board U.S. Navy and/or Coast Guard ships and boats.
  • Experience/understanding of new corrosion control technologies and how they may be implemented on U.S. Navy and/or Coast Guard ships/boats.


Physical Requirements:
  • Naval or Ship setting, must have the ability to crawl, climb, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, crouch, stand for longs periods of time, lift and hold up to 50 lbs., talk, hear and sit.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the ship site in all types of weather. Subject to hot, cold, humid and wet conditions depending on location.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other business machines. Use hands to finger, handle, and feel.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk varying distances. At times climb ladders or pick up materials.
