Description
SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the cutting-edge Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Program in Huntsville, AL.
The IBCS Program is instrumental in advancing air and missile defense capabilities through the integration of sensors and shooters in a network-centric environment, enhancing battlefield situational awareness and defense measures. The successful candidate will ensure the seamless integration and functionality of IBCS, collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver operationally effective systems to our soldiers.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Lead system integration, verification, and functional checkout for IBCS, ensuring compliance with specifications and operational requirements.
- Design and execute test plans to validate system performance.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Analyze test data, documenting findings and recommending system enhancements.
- Act as a Field Service Representative (FSR) for system fielding and delivery.
- Travel up to 25% to CONUS and potential OCONUS locations as required.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with at least five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Six (6) years' additional experience can be accepted in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).
Clearance Requirements:
- Must possess and be able to maintain an active Secret security clearance; ship required.
Required Qualifications:
- In-depth understanding of air and missile defense command and control systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to deliver complex tactical training and support.
- Basic networking knowledge, including IP addressing, TCP/IP protocols, and multicast technologies.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with tactical air and missile defense systems.
- Proficiency in any of the Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of NETOPS and both Upper and Lower Tactical Networks.
- Technical knowledge of various COTS routers, switches, firewalls, and telecommunications equipment.
- 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification or equivalent.
