Job Details

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Industrial Engineer to join our team in a cutting-edge tooling shop that designs and manufactures High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) dies for the aluminum industry. This position will focus on increasing the reliability and uptime of critical tooling and machining equipment through data-driven analysis, continuous improvement, and the integration of Lean Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering practices.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze equipment performance and failure data to identify root causes of downtime and chronic reliability issues
  • Develop and optimize Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) strategies including Predictive, Preventive, and Corrective Maintenance programs
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, SMED, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to streamline maintenance processes and eliminate waste
  • Conduct time studies, process flow analyses, and other industrial engineering techniques to identify inefficiencies in equipment usage and maintenance practices
  • Implement and support condition monitoring technologies such as vibration analysis, thermography, and lubrication monitoring
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Planner to align reliability goals with the preventive maintenance schedule and spare parts inventory in Flux (CMMS)
  • Create and maintain reliability KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, Availability, OEE), and lead projects to improve them
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and long-term corrective action implementation for high-impact failures
  • Contribute to the design and selection of more reliable equipment and processes, influencing capital investments and upgrades
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement teams focused on reducing equipment downtime, increasing die/tool life, and optimizing shop floor processes

Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in reliability, maintenance, or industrial engineering in a manufacturing or tooling environment
  • Strong knowledge of machining and toolroom equipment, die assembly, and systems used in HPDC die manufacturing
  • Proficiency in Lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, root cause problem solving)
  • Familiarity with Industrial Engineering methods, including time-motion studies, standard work, and line balancing
  • Experience with CMMS systems (preferably Flux) for planning and tracking maintenance activities
  • Skilled in reliability analysis tools such as FMEA, RCA, Fishbone, and Weibull analysis
  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), CMRP, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
  • Experience working in die casting, precision tooling, or high-performance manufacturing environments
