About the Role:
We are seeking a Technical Director with deep expertise in Pharmacy and Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) domains to lead technical strategy and execution for our data modernization initiatives. This individual will play a key leadership role in designing scalable data solutions, managing technical teams, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end architecture and technical direction for data platforms supporting PBM and Pharmacy functions.
Provide strategic guidance on Data Lake architecture with a focus on Databricks and Snowflake.
Oversee design and development of robust ETL pipelines using PySpark and other modern tools.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data engineers, and product owners.
Serve as a technical thought leader and domain expert in PBM, helping bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
Effectively communicate with executive stakeholders, manage expectations, and ensure alignment on goals and deliverables.
Mentor and guide engineering teams to ensure best practices, high code quality, and scalable solutions.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in Data Lake architecture, including Databricks and Snowflake.
Hands-on expertise in ETL development and PySpark in large-scale data environments.
Strong domain knowledge in Pharmacy and PBM business processes, data, and regulatory landscape.
Exceptional communication skills and experience working with senior business and technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership in managing technical teams and delivering enterprise-level solutions.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in complex, fast-paced environments.
Based in or willing to relocate to the Louisville, KY or Nashville, TN area is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
Prior involvement in healthcare data transformation or data modernization projects.
Familiarity with industry standards such as NCPDP and HIPAA compliance.
