Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Human Resources Administrator for a contract position in Troy,

MI. The opportunity will be one year with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

Client's team members are our most important asset, and we are in search of a HR Administrator based at either our Troy, MI, Burnsville, MN, or Faribault, MN office. Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Administrator will support the day-to-day operations of the human resources department by managing employee records, handling recruitment logistics, and ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws. They serve as a key point of contact for HR-related inquiries, assist with onboarding, and maintain accurate documentation to keep processes running smoothly.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Maintain employee records and ensure all HR databases are accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including posting job ads, scheduling interviews, and managing candidate communications.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, preparing documentation and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Initiating background checks or drug screenings
  • Running standard HRIS reports (headcount, turnover, PTO balances)
  • Preparing spreadsheets for tracking new hires, terminations, leaves, etc.
  • Logging leave start/end dates
  • Updating HRIS to reflect leave status changes
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies, supporting audits and reporting as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 1-3 years of administrative or HR support experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of HR processes, employment laws, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to handle sensitive information professionally.
