Are you a Senior Payroll Professional, Payroll Manager or Director from the business side who thrives in high-impact transitions? We are hiring a Workday Payroll Functional Lead to guide and support a large payroll shared services team through a transformation from PeopleSoft to Workday Payroll.

With a big bang go-live on December 14th for 100,000 employees, during year-end payroll and holiday deadlines, timing couldn t be more critical. This is your chance to make a measurable impact by providing structure, guidance, and confidence as the team embraces Workday Payroll.

What You ll Do

  • Provide hands-on payroll processing expertise in Workday, including running and validating payroll cycles.
  • Evaluate payroll processes to define shared services staffing needs, clarify payroll business processes, and use audit reports to monitor key issues and proactively resolve errors before they impact employees during the transition from PeopleSoft to Workday payroll.
  • Support Senior Payroll and Tax & Accounting Managers by representing them in key meetings so they can stay focused on day-to-day production while the new system stabilizes.
  • Assess team knowledge gaps and build confidence by recommending training, co-authoring materials and training plans as needed.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, offering real-world insights from prior large-scale Workday Payroll implementations.

What We re Looking For

  • Proven success as a Workday Payroll functional SME, Workday Payroll Manager or Director.
  • Hands-on experience running payroll in Workday for large organizations (100k+ employees)
  • Strong ability to analyze payroll processes, determine staffing requirements for a shared services team, and proactively address known issues.
  • Expertise in auditing, reporting, and error resolution within Workday Payroll.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to mentor, advise, and roll up your sleeves when needed.
  • Bonus Skills: Experience with PeopleSoft payroll and/or ADP tax services.
