Job Title: Project Manager- (PMP)
Location: Richmond, VA - (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 - Months
Job Description:
- Information Technology Division seeks an experienced Project Manager (PMP) to lead and deliver complex IT projects involving multiple teams and work streams within aggressive delivery timelines.
- Under the direction of a Program Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for the success of assigned projects and lead them through all phases of the Commonwealth Standard for Project Management, including:
- Pre-Select, Initiation, Planning, Execution & Control, and Closeout.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a hands-on technical project manager collaborating with development teams and business units.
- Coordinate and communicate work tasks, timelines, and resources across ITD staff and management.
- Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and contractors, including contract and procurement management.
- Ensure adherence to VDOT and VITA project management standards and governance requirements.
- Manage and maintain project budgets, schedules, risks, communications, and deliverables.
- Oversee documentation of requirements, use cases, and design workshops.
- Define and manage testing objectives, plans, and cases.
- Track and report progress using metrics and performance indicators.
- Support system and application training related to project implementation.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum of 8 10 years of experience managing large-scale projects.
- Bachelor s degree in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure delivery (networking, physical plant, vendor management, site provisioning).
- Experience managing large, multi-stream projects.
- PMP certification from PMI or VITA PM Certification (Category 4 projects).

Preferred:
- Experience managing projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Agile Scrum Master Certification.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, Project Server).
