Position: Senior Network Engineer

Location: Columbia, MD (REMOTE)

Duration: Contract to Hire

Summary:

• Works on network engineering team handling network projects, changes, and escalated troubleshooting. The position requires a solid understanding of data center, cloud, routing, & switching. Will participate in architecture & design of the network.

Essential Job Functions:

• Planning, designing, and implementing data center & cloud networking including core routing & WAN edge.
• Supporting data center, cloud, and network security products.
• Escalated troubleshooting from site network issues.
• Employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they arise
• Understand overall design of network security technologies.
• Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel
• Work with InfoSec team to resolve vulnerabilities.

Required Skills/Experience/Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Certification in Cisco is a plus.
• 5 years' experience in a Senior Network Engineer role or related position.
• Knowledge of Cisco IOS & AWS cloud.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace.
• Skilled at working in tandem with a team of engineers, or alone as required.
