Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Lead Storage Engineer to join our program supporting the biomedical research community for our customer with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) at the National Institutes of Health.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads the design, implementation, management, and daily operations of data storage and protection systems for NHLBI, including on-premise and cloud-based solutions.
  • Maintains and manages large-scale scientific data storage systems and facilitates secure data transfer.
  • Ensures seamless data backup, archiving, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Manages storage provisioning requests, develops capacity plans, and tunes performance based on usage trends and project demands.
  • Conducts daily health checks, performance analysis, and proactive issue resolution for enterprise storage infrastructure.
  • Evaluates emerging storage technologies and recommend enhancements to optimize system scalability, security, and efficiency.
  • Ensures system patching and configuration security and compliance with vulnerability remediation requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience managing large-scale storage solutions and data protection practices.
  • Experience with scientific data management and cloud storage.
  • Experience with DELL/EMC Unity and Isilon storage platforms.
  • Experience protecting data via EMC RecoverPoint, EMC SyncIQ, Commvault, and Druva inSync
  • Experience with disaster recovery solutions and technologies such as Superna Eyeglass

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI)
  • Strong organizational and management skills.
  • Experience working with NIH
  • AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals - , CompTIA A+ - , CompTIA Network+ - , MS 70-413 Designing and Implementing a Server Infrastructure

The likely salary range for this position is $156,527 - $211,773. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
