Job Title: Appian Business Analyst
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Appian Business Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be the vital link between our business stakeholders and the technical development team, using your expertise to translate business needs into robust, low-code solutions on the Appian platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business process management (BPM), excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to drive digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Work closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and end-users to elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for Appian applications and workflows.
- Process Mapping and Improvement: Map and analyze existing business processes, identifying opportunities for automation, optimization, and improvement using the Appian platform. Define "to-be" process flows and mock-ups.
- Solution Design: Translate business requirements into technical specifications for the Appian development team. Assist in designing the user experience, process models, data structures (CDTs), user interfaces (SAIL), and business rules.
- Agile Development Lifecycle: Participate in all phases of the Agile software development lifecycle, including leading Agile ceremonies like sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison, ensuring seamless communication and alignment between business users and developers throughout the project. Present functional and technical designs to stakeholders for review and approval.
- Project Backlog Management: Maintain and prioritize the project backlog using tools like Jira, ensuring user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria are clear and complete.
- Testing and Validation: Coordinate and execute functional testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the final Appian solution meets all business requirements and functions as intended.
- Documentation and Training: Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, user guides, and training materials. Conduct training sessions for end-users on new Appian features and applications.
- Integration and Technology: Understand how Appian can be integrated with other systems and work with technical teams to define integration requirements involving APIs and connected systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience as a business analyst
- Proven experience gathering, documenting, and refining business and technical requirements for Appian-based systems.
- Solid knowledge of Appian components, including Process Models, SAIL interfaces, Custom Data Types (CDTs), Records, Reports, and Security.
- Experience working within an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Familiarity with business process modeling notation (BPMN).
- Experience using tools like Jira, Confluence, Visio, or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Appian Analyst or Appian Developer certification.
- Certification such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA).
- Experience with specific integrations relevant to the industry, such as CRM, ERP, or other third-party systems.
