Hybrid onsite role in Nashville, TN. Seeking a highly certified Salesforce Data Engineer to be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Technical Authority for all enterprise data solutions, with a particular focus on the Public Sector Cloud. The core function is to engineer and integrate scalable data pipelines, ETL processes (primarily using MuleSoft), and APIs across Salesforce and external systems. The role is critical in leading the data modeling strategy, architecture, governance, and quality initiatives (including data cleansing and deduplication) across all Salesforce Clouds. Furthermore, the engineer will design and deploy advanced AI/ML and Generative AI features (like Einstein GPT) to strategically leverage Salesforce data for enhanced service delivery and dynamic decision support. The position requires a minimum of 7-9 years of experience, holding key certifications such as the Salesforce Certified Platform Data Architect and Salesforce Certified MuleSoft Platform Architect.

responsibilities:

This role requires a highly experienced Salesforce Data Engineer to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), driving the strategy and technical execution of enterprise data solutions across the State of Tennessee's Salesforce ecosystem, focusing on Public Sector Cloud and cross-agency initiatives.


Data Architecture, Design, and Engineering


  • Lead the comprehensive design and implementation of scalable, high-performance data architecture across various Salesforce Clouds (e.g., Public Sector Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud).
  • Define, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes utilizing MuleSoft or other integration platforms to facilitate seamless data flow between Salesforce and external enterprise systems.
  • Serve as the technical authority for data ingestion, transformation, and optimization strategies, ensuring strict alignment with Salesforce best practices for data integrity, security, and performance.
  • Lead the data modeling strategy (conceptual, logical, and physical) for complex, cross-cloud implementations, ensuring data structures support efficient reporting, integration, and service delivery.
  • Define and implement optimal strategies for data storage, normalization, partitioning, and indexing across Salesforce instances to meet strict performance and scalability requirements.
  • Design and manage API integrations between Salesforce and external systems, ensuring secure, efficient, and reliable data exchange.
Data Quality, Governance, and Compliance


  • Establish and enforce comprehensive data governance frameworks and best practices tailored to the Salesforce data ecosystem across client organizations.
  • Coordinate the implementation of data quality management processes, including monitoring and actively leading efforts for data migration, deduplication, cleansing, and enrichment to ensure high data integrity and consistency across all Salesforce systems.
  • Develop and maintain key data governance artifacts, including business glossaries, data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and clear data ownership/stewardship models for critical Salesforce data assets.
  • Collaborate with the Salesforce Product Owner, business units, and key stakeholders to define, document, and align on data governance requirements and enterprise-wide data strategies.
  • Ensure data solutions and integrations comply with relevant State, Federal, and security regulations (e.g., data residency, PII handling).
  • Provide detailed technical documentation and guidance for all data integration strategies, data cleansing initiatives, and deduplication methodologies.
AI/ML and Advanced Data Solutions


  • Design and deploy sophisticated, AI-powered agents and automation solutions that dynamically leverage and interact with Salesforce data to enable decision support, enhance customer service, and streamline complex workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with AI/ML and Generative AI specialists to architect and integrate predictive models and Large Language Model (LLM)-based assistants (e.g., Einstein GPT) within the Salesforce environment to drive process intelligence and citizen engagement.
  • Prepare and structure Salesforce data for consumption by machine learning models, ensuring features are optimized for training and inference.
  • Stay current on emerging Salesforce data technologies, particularly in the AI/GenAI and advanced analytics space, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to enhance service delivery.




qualifications:

- Salesforce Certified Platform Data Architect: 7-9 years of relevant experience.


- Salesforce Certified MuleSoft Platform Architect: 7-9 years of relevant experience.


- Salesforce Platform Developer II: 4-6 years of relevant experience.


- Salesforce Certified MuleSoft Developer: 4-6 years of relevant experience.


- Expertise in designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines, ETL, and APIs between Salesforce and external systems.


- In-depth proficiency with MuleSoft (or equivalent) for complex data integration and orchestration.


- Strong experience in data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical) for Salesforce data architecture.


- Proven ability to lead data governance frameworks, quality management, and data cleansing/deduplication efforts.


- Familiarity with Salesforce Public Sector Cloud and cross-Cloud implementations (Service, Experience).


- Experience in integrating advanced AI/ML and Generative AI tools (e.g., Einstein GPT) with Salesforce data.
