Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer (L5) to join our OXM Enterprise Team in Reston, VA. This role involves driving AI-based solutions, modernizing backend systems, enhancing UI experiences, and ensuring seamless API integrations. The ideal candidate will be a strong Java developer with additional expertise in frontend and backend technologies, who thrives in a fast-paced, Agile environment.

Responsibilities

AI Development: Deliver AI-based topic modeling and tuning features to improve data insights
Backend Modernization: Lead the transition from CrateDB to a more advanced text engine backend while ensuring data integrity and performance
UI Development: Build and enhance React-based UI components to deliver a modern and intuitive user experience
API Engineering: Design, implement, and maintain REST APIs, integrating primary backend services with frontend systems
Automation: Support automation of quality assessments for AI tools to reduce KTLO risks and optimize operational efficiency
Collaborate within a cross-functional Agile team to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions.

Required Skills

Strong proficiency in Java development
Hands-on experience in React for UI development
Expertise in REST API design and implementation
Knowledge of relational databases (SQL)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in Agile teams
Excellent communication skills (English fluency required)
Must be available onsite in Reston, VA

Preferred Skills

Experience with Go programming language
Familiarity with RabbitMQ message queuing
Exposure to AI tooling and automation of quality assessments
