Systems Engineering - Special Mission Aircraft
Bell's Special Mission Aircraft team is seeking a Systems Engineer to oversee activities across the system lifecycle including Requirements development, system architecture, and integration and test.
This position requires proactive coordination across disciplines (design, software development, and SE) and Bell suppliers.
The role involves supporting a cross-functional team of engineers using systems engineering techniques and best practices. Involvement is required in a variety of multi-disciplinary activities, including Architecture Definition, Design Specification, Requirements Management, Configuration and Data Management, Supplier Management, Reliability & Maintainability, Safety, and Testing. The position requires proactive coordination across disciplines, customers, and suppliers. A combination of hard and soft skills is essential for success.
Along with your systems engineering capabilities, you will work with chief engineers, cross functional engineers, program managers, customers and supporting specialists to coordinate, communicate, plan and execute advanced development programs for Bell.

What you'll be doing as a Systems Engineer
- Serve as the program interface to the customer's Systems Engineering teams.
- Manage the maintenance and change management of requirements.
- Oversee the definition and tracing of design requirements, test data, and performance values for development systems and their subsystems.
- Perform trade studies and functional analyses associated with requirements and potential design solutions.
- Analyze requirements and design artifacts for compliance and completeness.
- Ensure the delivery of Systems Engineering artifacts for all program milestones, along with participating in major program reviews e.g. Requirements Review.
- Manage the release process for Systems Engineering documents and artifact deliverables.
- Support product engineering teams either developing new system capabilities or resolving issues with systems.
- Support definition of system and subsystem interfaces.
- Review and provide input to the intent, and requirements of supplier specifications, SOWs, and qualification content.
- Support the program proposal process, including the development of cost estimates and work budgets.
Skills You Bring To this Role:
- Proven leadership and teamwork skills.
- Experience with requirements, design specifications, subcontracts, and testing. Model-Based Systems Engineering desired.
- Understanding of the product life cycle and the ability to assess the appropriate timing for systems engineering activities. Background in aerospace and aircraft technologies is preferred.
- Experience with functional analysis areas such as safety, reliability, and RIO (Risk, Issues, Opportunities) is preferred.
- Experience with defining requirements verification processes and methods as well as participation in verification activities.
- We are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate.
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Required). Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience (Preferred).
- At least 6+ years of systems engineering work experience.
- Significant technical experience in Systems Engineering for product development applications, including artifact traceability for airworthiness and test.
