Engineering Manager - AMR

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to become a part of the fastest growing segment in the automation space. As an AMR Controls/IT Software Engineer will be responsible for the engineering de-sign and deployment of AMR Fleet management software at customer facilities, the building of standard libraries to improve programming efficiency, and the development new software interfaces enabling new product offerings and improvements. The work model for the role is: #LI - Hybrid This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation Robotics division in Auburn Hills, MI. Main stakeholders are both our internal and external customers. You will be mainly accountable for: Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments. Providing technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities. Assisting in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects. Utilizing checklists to perform design verification according to applicable standards and engineering guidelines.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Engineering, Automation, Robotics solutions development, or AGV/AMR Engineering/programming.
  • Willing to Travel up to 60%.
  • Knowledge of FDL, C#, .NET.
  • Knowledge of web application development tools (ASP.NET, PHP, HTML5, CSS3, Web Services).
  • Knowledge in WEB Server programming using Node.JS, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with co-development using Github/Bitbucket.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols with PLCs, SCADAs, MES, Kepware.
  • Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, PLC programming preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server and database management.
  • Spanish Language proficiency is a plus.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
