A globally leading technology company is looking for a Video Image Quality Lab Engineer to join their innovative Video Engineering team, responsible for delivering world-class image quality across smartphones, tablets, and computers. In this role, you will help build and maintain a state-of-the-art camera testing lab, develop automation frameworks for data collection, and contribute to the evaluation of video image quality for new features and algorithms. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in lab automation, image quality assessment, and scripting in MATLAB or Python. Job Responsibilities:
- Help build and maintain a camera testing lab:
- Responsible for understanding the image quality performance metrics, incubating new test methodology, and developing a robust automation framework to gather data and measure image quality performance metrics.
- Actively participate in video image quality evaluations for new features and algorithms, through experimental studies in the lab and in the field to provide feedback to the engineering teams.
- Be a critical part of a fast-paced, collaborative team;
- Thrive in a high energy, time-constrained, multitasking environment to significantly impact the image quality.
- This role may occasionally require night testing to support project requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors in EE, Computer Science, Color Science or relevant fields
3 years of relevant industry experience in lab automation
Proficiency in MATLAB or Python
Strong knowledge of subjective/objective image quality evaluation
Strong knowledge of ISP pipeline and 3A evaluation
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong image/video photography skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate and
work cross functionally.
Type: Contract
Duration: 12 months (with a possibility to extend to 18 months)
Location: San Diego, CA (100% On site)
Pay range: $49/hr - $64/hr (DOE)
