Job Description:

Systems:

Accounting Book of Record: PAM (State Street), Investment Book of Record: Aladdin (BlackRock), Aladdin Data Cloud (BlackRock), Bloomberg

Key Responsibilities:

Requirement Gathering & Analysis:

  • Sit closely and collaborate with the business stakeholders to identify the needs for systems synchronization and reconciliation for various asset types, including timings, scope, datasets, filters, data elements, business logic, etc., and document the requirement for those.
  • Perform gap analysis in solutions to identify missing data elements.
  • Solution Design, Implementation, Testing & Support:
  • Create high-level design for technical solutions to meet business requirements (e.g., for synchronization between two or more accounting and investment systems, reconciliation between two or more accounting and investment systems, etc.).
  • Produce architectural diagrams (e.g., process flow, component interaction, timeline, Azure services) and other documentation (e.g., support documentation) for existing and proposed solutions.
  • Create detailed design specifications including mapping of data elements between two or more systems, transformations, business logic, etc.
  • Create starter SQL queries for Azure SQL and Snowflake databases that the development team can use in their development.
  • Oversee the implementation of solutions representing the business stakeholders to ensure they correspond to the design.
  • Perform testing and UAT working closely with developers to make sure the solutions are tested thoroughly to meet business requirements and industry and development standards.
  • Identify areas for improvement in existing solutions and propose new technologies or approaches to enhance cross-cutting concerns, such as maintainability.
  • Create and augment support documentation enduring maintainability of the solutions.
  • Provide support for production data processes, performing troubleshooting and root cause analysis when needed, including during incidents and after-hours deployments.

Essential Skills & Knowledge:

  • Investment Operations and Financial Knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of investment products, portfolios, asset classes and their structures, especially CMLs, RMLs and private securities, their data elements, and their representation in accounting (especially PAM) and investment (especially Aladdin and Bloomberg) systems.
  • Experience with financial systems, trading platforms, and portfolio management tools, especially experience with PAM and Aladdin.
  • Understanding of investment workflows, processes, and regulatory requirements is desired.
  • Familiarity with investment management concepts and financial markets is desired.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in: SQL, JSON.
  • Good understanding of Python.
  • Good understanding of cloud concepts and services, Azure preferred.
  • Strong understanding of technology stacks used in investment management, operations, and accounting.
  • Knowledge of system design principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of security standards and compliance regulations related to financial services preferred.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools used in investment analysis preferred.

Good understanding of Agile process and experience working on Agile teams.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentations skills to effectively work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
