Overview
The Interface Architect for the Product Director, General Fund Enterprise Business System (PD GFEBS) will be responsible for leading and coordinating the development of system interfaces between an SAP-based Defense Business Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and numerous feeder systems and tools. This includes the creation, update, review and maintenance of system interface design documentation and software code. Responsibilities include implementing engineering best practices to develop, test, and maintain interfaces with key financial interface partners. The Interface Architect must exhibit the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle: requirements generation, design, code, verification and test, maintenance, and support; and overall integration of software modules and other subsystem components, both commercial and custom. Support frequently requires troubleshooting and research into reports, processes, interfaces and data structures, both delivered and customized
- Develop and review webservices, Application Programming Interfaces (API) and point to point system interface designs for completion and accuracy to include hardware, software, and interface details
- Coordinate with interface partners to lead design meetings and manage System Interface Agreements (SIA)
- Organize, conduct, and provide technical engineering information to adapt, automate, and develop new systems, enhance performance, or solve existing problems
- Investigate software engineering design and development methodologies
- Support interface-related software life cycle and SAP Process Integration (PI) requirements
- Perform detailed planning and project support activities including work breakdown structure, estimates, status reporting and project closeout specific to interface development and testing initiatives
- Collaborate with developers, test engineers and architects to author and promote product level interface development strategies and plan artifacts that support the implementation of a new defense business system
- Perform complex analysis of business and technical requirements and specifications while ensuring traceability to requirements
- Provide detailed status reporting, metrics and dashboards related to interface architecture
- Analyze interface risks and communicate mitigation options to stakeholders as needed
Qualifications
- Secret clearance required
- BA/BS in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Systems/Software Engineering or equivalent related field
- 7+ years' experience defining/leading SAP Process Integration (PI) engineering and interface development activities in a government environment (DoD/Army preferred)
- 7+ years' experience with Business System or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system development
- Familiarization with both Waterfall and Agile software testing methodologies/processes
