Solution Architect Salesforce Marketing Cloud
6 months to 1 year (Contract to Hire)
We are seeking a seasoned Solution Architect with deep expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) and Salesforce Data Cloud to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale customer engagement and data-driven marketing solutions. This role requires strong technical acumen, architectural leadership, and the ability to bridge marketing strategy with cutting-edge Salesforce capabilities. The ideal candidate will be both a hands-on architect and a trusted advisor, guiding clients through complex data unification, personalization, and omnichannel marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Solutioning
- Architect end-to-end Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions, leveraging Data Cloud for customer data unification, identity resolution, and audience activation.
- Translate marketing strategies into scalable, automated campaigns powered by Journey Builder, Personalization, and Intelligence (Datorama).
- Define data models, governance frameworks, and integration patterns between Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and enterprise systems (CRM, ERP, AdTech, MarTech).
- Establish best practices, standards, and guardrails for marketing automation and customer data platforms.
Delivery & Execution
- Lead multi-cloud implementations, ensuring alignment with client objectives and Salesforce best practices.
- Define and implement real-time data ingestion, segmentation, and activation strategies using Data Cloud.
- Oversee data integrations with external platforms (CDP, analytics, identity providers, ad networks, etc.).
- Ensure solutions support compliance (GDPR, CCPA), high performance, and personalization at scale.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Partner with client stakeholders, Salesforce product teams, and cross-functional consultants to co-create long-term roadmaps.
- Mentor Marketing Cloud developers, data engineers, and campaign managers on advanced capabilities.
- Contribute to building accelerators, frameworks, and playbooks to strengthen the Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud practice.
Qualifications
- Experience: 7+ years in Marketing Technology solutioning, with at least 3+ years in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and proven expertise in Salesforce Data Cloud.
- Certifications: Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Consultant, Data Cloud Accredited Professional (or equivalent); Architect-level certifications are a strong plus.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in Marketing Cloud modules: Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, Mobile Studio, Advertising Studio, and Personalization.
- Deep understanding of Data Cloud architecture, data ingestion, harmonization, identity resolution, and audience segmentation.
- Knowledge of integration patterns with Salesforce CRM, Service Cloud, Commerce Cloud, and external data sources.
- Familiarity with APIs, SQL, Python, and data modeling for advanced customizations and analytics.
Leadership Skills
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage executives and technical stakeholders alike.
- Proven ability to lead onshore/offshore delivery teams.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-expectation client environments.
Domain Expertise
- Prior experience in industries such as EdTech and CBS is preferred.
