Client: Major Retail Brand

Job Title: Full-Stack Architect (eCommerce/Data Platform Focus)
Overview:
We are looking for a hands-on Full-Stack Architect with strong experience in eCommerce, data platforms, and content management systems (CMS). The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge across the stack and thrives in a dynamic environment where they can proactively design, prototype, and collaborate closely with engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead system design and architectural discovery sessions for consumer-facing eCommerce platforms.
Design and prototype solutions-regularly build proofs of concept (POCs) to validate technical approaches.
Work closely with engineering teams-provide hands-on support with performance tuning, design challenges, and implementation guidance.
Evaluate and improve existing systems and patterns; break down silos and suggest better architectural approaches.
Contribute to architecture documentation, but more importantly, actively participate in technical problem-solving and code-level discussions.
Support deployment and troubleshooting efforts, especially in areas requiring architectural input or deep technical expertise.
Occasionally contribute to production-level code as needed-but the primary focus is architectural leadership, not day-to-day development.
Champion performance optimization, scalability, and maintainability across the stack.
Kafka experience is a must-have (essential to eCommerce Architecture)

Required Skills & Experience:
Full-Stack Engineering experience: Deep expertise in React, Microservices (Spring Boot), Relational Databases (RDBMS), and NoSQL technologies.
Proven ability to design consumer-facing eCommerce platforms with scalable, resilient architecture.
Strong data platform experience: Understanding of how to design data warehouses (DWH), build data pipelines, and implement data transformations.
CMS experience is required (Contentful preferred, but any modern CMS is acceptable).
Personalization experience driven by data is a strong plus.
Familiarity with Machine Learning concepts is a bonus, but not a requirement.

Soft Skills:
Proactive, takes ownership and initiative without being prompted.
Quick thinker-can make informed decisions in real time.
Strong communicator-able to articulate complex technical ideas clearly to both engineers and stakeholders.
Collaborative and hands-on-not just a high-level consultant but someone who can "walk the talk" and dive deep into code and technical issues.

Ideal Candidate:
This is a roll-up-your-sleeves type of architecture role, ideal for someone who can bridge the gap between strategy and execution.
