OVERVIEW
The Technical Trainer / Technical Writer delivers high-quality training programs focused on IT software, hardware, systems, and networks. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong communication skills and hands-on technical knowledge who can effectively educate and support end-users and technical staff. The ideal candidate has a background in adult learning, curriculum delivery, and instructional design, and can present content using a variety of training tools and media formats. This person also the ability to create job aids and assist in completing necessary documentation and working with technical staff on Knowledge Base articles and editing Government required documentation.
The Technical Trainer / Technical Writer will:

Individuals working for SBG Technology Solutions, Inc, a DSS, Inc. will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high-risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.

The Technical Trainer / Technical Writer will:
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver instructor-led and virtual training sessions on IT systems, software, hardware, and networks.
- Present technical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner for users at various skill levels.
- Adapt training delivery to suit the audience, environment, and available technologies.
- Utilize various training tools, platforms, and media (e.g., slide decks, e-learning software, video, interactive demos) to enhance learner engagement.
- Create and maintain course materials, handouts, manuals, and user guides.
- Assess training effectiveness and gather feedback to improve future sessions.
- Provide one-on-one or small group training and support as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies to keep training content up to date.
- Collaborate with IT and project teams to understand training needs for new systems or updates.
- Create job aids and assist with required technical documentation
- Ensure accuracy of Knowledge Base articles in ServiceNow to drive Incidents to Tier 0/1
- Work with teammates and Government on editing required security and Government documentation.

Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting IT-related training programs.
- Experience delivering training on IT hardware, software, systems, and network operations.
- Proficiency with training and presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint, LMS platforms, video conferencing tools).
- Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience with instructional design and curriculum development.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and technical certification programs.
- Background in Help Desk or IT support roles is a plus.
EDUCATION:
- Associate degree or completion of a 2-year technical program in a Computer Science or relevant field OR
- 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of education.
