Our team is part of the Delivery Product Engineering group within our Edge Technology organization. We help large enterprises around the world manage their websites and secure their transactions over the internet. Our globally distributed network can solve problems at a scale that few others can.

Make a difference in a critical area of our business

You will be building high resiliency customer-facing systems. You will enhance our customers' experience in managing their international CDN presence and satisfying compliance requirements. You will work with internal teams to design, shape and create innovative solutions for our customers.
\n
As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:
\n

\n
• Designing and development of highly scalable software that runs on the Akamai infrastructure
\n
• Partnering with internal cross functional teams to translate requirements into solutions to meet business objectives
\n
• Implementing new features, enhancing and optimizing existing features
\n
• Contributing ideas and knowledge to process-improvement sessions team to facilitate continuous improvement of our products
\n

To be successful in this role you will:
\n

\n
• Have 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
\n
• Have good programming skills and an interest in learning new technologies
\n
• Display in-depth knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and test-driven development in Java and Python
\n
• Possess hands on experience with service-oriented architecture, REST, microservices, frameworks like Spring
\n
• Be experienced working with Databases and CI/CD tools (i.e. Jenkins, Maven)
\n
• Possess excellent communication skills, be self-driven, positive and an effective team player
\n

Compensation
\n
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $83,800 - $174,200/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
