The Fluid Control Division, located in New Britain CT, is currently seeking a Design Engineering co-op to join the team. This is a paid, full-time (40 hours per week) opportunity that starts in July 2025 and ends on December 31, 2025 (6 months) with the opportunity to continue through a full year. The anticipated hourly rate for this role is \$23/hour.
Current Engineering student, preferably Junior or Senior year
Position Summary
As a co-op engineer you will assist in the design and development of solenoid valves and fluid flow control systems for customer specific applications and provide engineering support to resolve day-to-day product related manufacturing issues. Responsibilities may include; design work, building and testing prototypes, creating test plans, functional evaluation of new and existing designs, creating product validation reports, creating cost estimates, participating in cost reduction activities, creating assembly work instructions and test procedures, problem-solving/failure analysis.
The successful candidate must be a motivated, self-starter with a good foundation in the basic principles of mechanical engineering, as demonstrated by their course work and/or extra-curricular activities. Course work or experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: machine design, structures, solid mechanics, fluids, electromechanical devices. Good organizational, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required. The individual must be detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects. Must be mechanically inclined and have experience operating equipment including (but not limited to); power tools, mechanical tools, and measurement devices. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
Qualifications
Technical knowledge/experience in the following areas is a plus:
Manufacturing methods such as turning, milling, injection molding
Interpreting engineering drawings
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Inventor/AutoCAD software
3D Modeling and related analytical analysis software
