ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Solution Architect

• Review CDPH enterprise policies and standards, ensuring proposals align with State enterprise architecture adoption requirements.
• Document business user stories and service models for the solution that align to the CDPH enterprise architecture and adoption practices accounting for business, application, data, technology, and security domains.
• Design and deliver solutions and interfaces using DevOps methodologies, accounting for logical and operational models addressing application, data, security, and infrastructure.
• Provide as-is and to-be states with gap assessments and recommendations for addressing gaps.
• Create and maintain the overall technical vision for the Contractor's solution that aligns with CDPH's expected business outcome, mission, vision, strategic direction, and architecture.
• Research, analyze, and recommend available software, platforms, and technologies to meet the State's standards and align to CDPH services.
• Provide recommendations and roadmaps for proposed solutions, including all technical documentation on the Contractor's solution.
• Monitor the development process and keep stakeholders, including CDPH senior architects and technical operations teams, informed in collaboration with the Lead Developer.
• Regularly communicate new features and benefits to partners and stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership to an architecture team throughout the solution development and for the period engaged in maintenance.
• Review and validate solution design proposals from other teams as necessary.
• Manage and communicate technical risks and mitigation options during solution development.
• Develop detailed design documents, interface specifications, and performance and capacity test plans.
• Conduct knowledge transfer through the solution lifecycle phases.
• Perform other duties as required.

Solutions Architect

Mandatory Experience

1. A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Solutions Architect directly responsible for designing the architecture for integrated IT systems, including: User, recipient, and external system interfaces with system-enforced, role-based, secure data access and entry privileges. External system interface development, and integration with other applications.
2. A minimum of three (3) years as a Solution Architect of a data pipeline and processing solution with multiple data sources.
3. Minimum of four (4) years of hands-on technical leadership for systems development projects, including: providing system and enterprise architecture, logical and physical design, development, and deployment.
4. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Cloud, Microsoft Power Platform, and Enterprise-level Data Analytics Platforms.
5. A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Cloud Solutions Architect, including: designing SaaS solutions, and integration with other services and applications in hybrid environments.
6. A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Solution Architect on at least one (1) project that required enterprise-level data architecture.

Desirable Experience:

1.One (1) to three (3) years of experience as the Solution Architect implementing or maintaining a public sector system
