Job Description
Bento Technologies, Inc. is seeking the position of Lead Software Engineer - Back End in Seattle, Washington (multiple positions).
Essential Responsibilities:
The Lead Software Engineer - Back End will be responsible for leading the data platform team and technically guiding a team of engineers to develop and maintain a real-time streaming platform. Design system architecture, ensuring data quality, and optimizing platform performance. Spearhead the design and implementation of a real-time streaming data platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and data consistency. Drive innovation and adhere to best practices in data engineering and real-time analytics. Gather requirements from stakeholders, define experiences in partnership with UX designers and Product Owners, and build services required to power those experiences. Work with technical leaders across organizations to integrate services and workflows, and release quality and observability measures within pipeline deliveries. Actively engage with DevOps and Infrastructure to develop a strategy around test automation, diagnostics, deploying, alerting, auditing, and APM to better monitor our services in production to raise awareness of emerging issues and provide targeted forensic data that can be used during remediation actions. Collaborate with downstream teams to identify gaps in test and tools coverage, design and build new frameworks and service layers to increase test system effectiveness and improve our production testing infrastructure to increase deployment confidence. Periodically perform code analysis to discern security, performance and business scale challenges and partner with engineering and product teams to prioritize work necessary to address roadmap concerns. Participate in code reviews and design brainstorming sessions. Only incidental domestic travel is required for this position. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires at least a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or related.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must possess at least 5 years of experience with the following: (a) designing and implementing automated data quality solutions for an analytical platform using Apache; (b) analyzing large datasets to extract insights; (c) leading a team of engineers to develop and maintain a real-time streaming platform using Kafka and AWS; (d) creating scalable solutions for data platforms; (e) collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop strategies around test automation; (f) utilizing all of the following: Gitlab, Docker, and Java.
