Network Support Specialist
Work Location - Miramar, FL 33025

Hours per Week - 40
Total Hours - contract to hire

Shift Schedule
  • Will be scheduled to work holidays
  • Position is 4 days on, 3 off.
  • Operating as a 24/7 dedicated operations team, Client's shift schedule entails 10-hour shifts, four days a week, with a quarterly rotation between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts or as necessitated by the business.
  • Upon selection, Client's dedicated team will provide a comprehensive 4-week training program to ensure your success in the role.
  • Ability to work night shifts for a minimum of 3 months is mandatory.

Job Overview
  • As a Network Support Specialist within Client's Network Management Center (NMC), candidate will be integral to the monitoring of the Client's Mobility & IP network, ensuring seamless cellular mobile services on cruise ships worldwide.
  • This role involves maintaining the reliability and optimal performance of Client's network infrastructure, encompassing the Transport Network (Cisco Switching & Routing), Mobility Network (Ericsson RAN/Core devices for GSM, UMTS, and LTE, as well as DAS), and IoT solution for Container ships.
  • Candidate's duties will include monitoring network activities, diagnosing and resolving issues, and delivering technical support to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Monitoring
    • Utilize network monitoring tools to continuously observe network performance and identify potential issues.
    • Respond promptly to alerts and incidents, conducting initial troubleshooting to determine the root cause of network problems.
  • Issue Resolution
    • Diagnose and resolve network incidents, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
    • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base for future reference.
  • Technical Support
    • Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users and internal teams experiencing network-related problems.
    • Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Configuration and Maintenance
    • Assist in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Collaboration
    • Collaborate with network engineers and other IT professionals to maintain, implement, and optimize network infrastructure.
    • Participate in cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and address evolving business requirements.
  • Documentation
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
    • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance network management efficiency.
  • Emergency Response
    • Act promptly during critical situations, providing support in the event of network outages or emergencies.
    • Work closely with the Network Management Center (NMC) SMEs, Lead and Manager to escalate and coordinate responses to high-priority incidents.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in IP network support and/or cellular network support, with a preference for experience in a NOC environment.
  • Proficiency in utilizing network monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities, such as Solarwinds, PRTG, Nemo Analyze, etc.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Cisco switches and routers, Vmware, ESXI, and other networking equipment.
  • Knowledge of cellular network infrastructure (RAN and Core) for GSM, UMTS, LTE, and 5G technologies.
  • Familiarity with IoT, RF engineering/optimization, and DAS (Distributed Antenna System) is beneficial.
  • Possession of relevant certifications (e.g., CCENT, CCNA) is advantageous.

Pay Range: $25 - $30/HR W2
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
