Position: ServiceNow Developer / Engineer
Location: Tampa, FL
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance (with ability to obtain TS/SCI)
Travel Requirement: Up to 10% travel annually, including possible OCONUS (overseas) travel to support exercises.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer / Systems Engineer to support the development, maintenance, and optimization of ServiceNow environments within a large-scale IT enterprise program. The selected candidate will be responsible for system maintenance, workflow configuration, integrations, and enhancements to ensure stable, secure, and efficient ServiceNow operations across development, test, and production environments.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain and support ServiceNow environments including development, test, and production systems.
Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow workflows, enhancements, bug fixes, and upgrades.
Implement and manage ServiceNow integrations with external systems and platforms.
Configure and support ITOM and ITAM applications, including Discovery, Asset Management, Service Mapping Patterns, and Event Management.
Monitor system performance and stability to prevent degradation or outages.
Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential gaps in system performance or configuration.
Support and optimize relational databases such as MariaDB, including installation, indexing, and tuning.
Configure and maintain Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) modules (Agile Development, Demand, Project, Portfolio, and Resource Management).
Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reports for portfolio visibility and performance analysis.
Collaborate with process improvement teams to deliver ITIL, Agile, and PMBOK-aligned best practices for IT service delivery.
Work directly with end users to troubleshoot ServiceNow issues and provide system support.
Configure application fields, forms, email notifications, roles, and access controls.
Customize core applications (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Service Catalog) while adhering to best practices.
Support end users and stakeholders with SPM functionalities and training.
Participate in lifecycle management of IT hardware across the enterprise.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
3 5 years of hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Systems Engineer or Developer.
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator and/or ServiceNow Certified System Engineer certification.
ITIL v4 Foundation Certification.
Applicable DoD 8140 / DoD 8570 certification (e.g., Security+ CE).
Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining ServiceNow solutions in a Linux environment.
Proficiency in ServiceNow integrations, ITOM/ITAM modules, and system customization.
Desired Qualifications:
ServiceNow ITSM Implementer certification.
Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AngularJS, Jelly, and RESTful API web services.
Knowledge of incident, problem, change, and knowledge management processes.
Experience implementing engineering best practices in enterprise environments.
Strong collaboration, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Additional Information:
Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
May require occasional travel (up to 10%) including OCONUS support for exercises.
