Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. seeks a Vice President, Software Engineer in New York, New York

Contribute to the various front to back software systems used by the Equity Swaps Trading desk. Work on the software development life cycle of business products. Develop software system enhancements and fixes, write quality unit tests, collaborate with business users, produce release notes, provide support in the UAT testing stages, coordinate release signoff, assist in the release and deployment activities, and provide production support post-deployment. Write software code in Java and write stored procedures and scripts. Resolve software problems and deliver software features. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $185,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's in Computer Science, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Software Engineer, Associate, Analyst or a related technology role. Requires five (5) years of experience with: Java in large-scale enterprise environments. Requires three (3) years of experience with: database management systems in Sybase, SQL query writing, stored procedures, database design and API architecture; RESTful API development using Spring framework including Spring Boot; build tools including Apache Maven and Gradle; unit testing frameworks including Junit and Mockito; distributed systems, microservices architecture, and trading platform infrastructure, including order management systems; Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban and DevOps; and scripting languages including Python, Perl and Bash and Unix/Linux environments. Requires two (2) years of experience with: continuous integration and continuous delivery tools including Jenkins, Git, and JIRA and monitoring tools including Grafana; financial instruments including stocks, ETFs, mutual funds and swaps; post-trade processes, including settlement and regulatory reporting, in compliance with the Securities and Exchange Commission, and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority; market data feed integration from providers including Refinitiv (formerly Reuters) and Bloomberg; and FIX protocol application. Requires one (1) year of experience with: Apache Kafka and Tibco Rendezvous (TibRV).
