Overview
Our client is seeking a Marketing Technology Program Manager to drive the strategic implementation and optimization of their marketing technology stack. This contract engagement is a unique opportunity to serve as the Technical Service Delivery Owner (TSDO) for marketing technology services, focusing on technology strategy and lifecycle management. You will bridge marketing objectives with technical execution, ensuring martech investments deliver measurable business outcomes and a competitive advantage. This role requires a strong track record in driving complex, multi-million dollar technology implementations with clear business outcomes.
Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional initiatives, implementing and continuously optimizing marketing technology solutions including CRM, marketing automation, analytics platforms, and customer data platforms.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive martech roadmap aligned with business growth objectives and marketing strategy.
Partner with marketing, sales, IT, and data teams to define requirements, priorities, and success metrics for technology investments.
Partner with Marketing operations and Marketing leadership to establish KPIs and ROI frameworks to measure the business impact of marketing technology initiatives.
Implement utilization improvements that directly contribute to pipeline generation, conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs.
Present regular executive updates, in partnership with Marketing counterparts, on program performance, demonstrating clear connections between technology investments and revenue outcomes.
Work with Marketing stakeholders to manage complex, multi-workstream programs involving vendor selection, system integrations, data migration, and process automation.
Coordinate technical resources across internal teams and external vendors to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
Develop comprehensive project plans, risk mitigation strategies, and change management processes for large-scale technology implementations.
Navigate complex organizational dynamics to build consensus among diverse business stakeholders with varying priorities and perspectives.
Facilitate executive steering committees and cross-functional working groups to maintain alignment on priorities and resource allocation.
Manage competing requirements and expectations across marketing, sales, IT, and executive leadership teams.
Establish governance frameworks for marketing technology decisions, vendor management, and data compliance.
Drive decision-making processes that balance technical feasibility with business needs across multiple departments.
Serve as the primary liaison between marketing leadership and IT teams for all martech-related initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of program management experience managing complex, multi-million dollar technology implementations with clear business outcomes.
Experience working with marketing technology stack components including marketing automation platforms (Pardot, Marketo), data enrichment tools (ZoomInfo, Clay.com), customer engagement platforms (Braze), customer data platforms (Adobe CDP), and sales intelligence tools (LinkedIn Sales Navigator).
Deep understanding of marketing operations, lead management processes, and customer data workflows.
Experience with system integrations, API management, and data architecture principles.
Knowledge of triggering and targeting systems for personalized customer experiences.
Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools (Jira, Airtable, etc.).
Strong track record in contract/consulting engagements with ability to quickly integrate into existing teams and processes.
Demonstrated ability to influence and align senior stakeholders without direct authority, particularly in environments with competing priorities.
Excellent executive communication skills with experience presenting to C-level audiences and managing conflicting viewpoints.
Proven capability to translate complex technical concepts into business value propositions for diverse audiences.
Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills to drive consensus among stakeholders with differing objectives.
Experience operating effectively as an external consultant with minimal onboarding time.
