Job Description:

Liaison Quality Engineer - Onsite in Charleston, SC - Contract or Direct hire - W2 Only

*Candidates must be able to go onsite 5 days a week in Charleston, SC from day 1*

Apex Systems is seeking experienced Liaison Engineers (Production Review Engineer) to support a client in Charleston, South Carolina. We are looking for proactive individuals who can make quick engineering decisions that can go beyond their desks and into the factory for hands-on engineering. This position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills, partnering closely with production personnel. This position involves daily exposure to an onsite factory environment which includes access to entering airplanes during their many stages of build.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Applies basic knowledge of design and/or engineering principles to develop interim or final engineering solutions to product/process issues throughout production and/or for technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.
  • Analyzes, conducts failure analysis, root cause analysis and troubleshoots to understand root cause.
  • Provides written dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Supports activities to identify deviations that could impact design intent and safety and product/process improvements.
  • Develops routine customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Participates in (but not limited to) Material Review Boards and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Represents the engineering community in the build through post production environment.
  • Recommends simple non-destructive test procedures, tools, standards.
  • Conducts simple static strength analysis to validate interim design repairs meet original design loads criteria.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Bachelors of Science degree (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry - ABET accredited degree/university Required.
  • 3 or more years of experience in an engineering discipline.
  • 3 or more years of experience working in a cross-functional environment and/or business unit teams.
  • MRB experience required - the more the better.
  • Must be willing to work variable shifts, as the candidate may be assigned a rotation to cover first, second, or third shift.
  • Must be willing to work weekends or daily overtime and holidays as required to support production.


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree or higher in: Mechanical, Aerospace / Aeronautical, Civil, Electrical Engineering.

Material Review Board Certification experience or similar Liaison Engineering experience.

Aerospace experience, fabrications, manufacturing, and/or additive manufacturing experience.

Production engineering experience.

Relevant technological knowledge.

Excellent problem solving skills.

Ability to lead, work independently and in a team environment.

Excellent cross-functional teaming, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication.
