Job Title: Data Center Technician - Fiber Technician
Location: Kansas City, MO
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Work Type: Onsite

Job Description:
We are looking for a Data Center Technician Fiber Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic cabling in our data center. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with single-mode and multi-mode fiber, splicing, and using fiber testing tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and terminate fiber optic cables (single-mode and multi-mode)
  • Perform fiber splicing (fusion and mechanical)
  • Test and troubleshoot fiber using OTDR and power meters
  • Label and document all fiber runs and connections
  • Follow safety procedures and cabling standards
  • Support day-to-day operations and emergency repairs

Required Skills:

  • 3-5+ years of experience with fiber optic cabling
  • Experience with fiber tools: OTDR, splicer, power meter, VFL
  • Understanding of fiber types and connectors (LC, SC, etc.)
  • Ability to read basic network diagrams
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
