Role: Data Engineering with IAM

Locations: Fremont, CA 94538 (Fully Onsite)

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Note: Candidate needs to be in the office 5 Days every week. Local or candidates from Nearby states only.

Job Description:

Database Management:

• SQL Proficiency: Strong command of SQL for querying, managing, and optimizing databases.
• Database Platforms: Experience with systems like Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Backup & Recovery: Implementing and managing backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and high availability.
• Performance Tuning: Monitoring and optimizing database performance (indexes, queries, caching).

Data Security:

• Access Control: Implementing role-based access control (RBAC), least privilege principles, and user authentication.
• Encryption: Knowledge of data encryption at rest and in transit (e.g., TDE, SSL/TLS).
• Vulnerability Management: Identifying and patching database vulnerabilities, monitoring for threats.
• Compliance: Familiarity with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX) and how they apply to database systems.

Security Engineering:

• Security Architecture: Designing secure database environments, including network segmentation and firewalls.
• Incident Response: Investigating and responding to security breaches or suspicious activity.
• Audit & Monitoring: Setting up logging, auditing, and anomaly detection tools (e.g., SIEM systems).
• Identity & Access Management (IAM): Integrating with enterprise IAM systems like Active Directory or Azure AD.

Scripting & Automation:

• Scripting Languages: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automating tasks and security checks.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with tools like Terraform or Ansible for managing database infrastructure securely.

Soft Skills:

• Problem Solving: Analytical thinking to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Communication: Explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Working with IT, DevOps, and security teams to align on best practices.
