Job Function Summary:

  • Involves technology-based analysis of business practices, processes and problems; developing solutions which may involve process design, data and information architecture, software development and policy or procedural changes; creating specifications for systems to meet requirements; validating requirements against needs; designing details of automated systems; developing user interface design; planning and executing unit integration and end-user acceptance testing; may develop training materials for system implementation. May lead cross-functional teams to solve complex business or systems issues.
  • Technical leader with a high degree of knowledge in the overall field and recognized expertise in specific areas; problem-solving frequently requires analysis of unique issues / problems without precedent and / or structure. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy.
  • The Business Systems Analyst serves as a key member of the IT Functional Team, providing analytical, technical, and operational support for Oracle Cloud and boundary systems. The incumbent partners with campus stakeholders to analyze business processes, define system requirements, and ensure that HR technology solutions effectively support institutional goals. The position supports configuration, data integrity, and ongoing maintenance across core ERP functions.
  • Acting as the primary liaison between business stakeholders (HR, Payroll, Operations) and technical teams, the incumbent assists in resolving production issues ranging from routine to complex; analyzes new business requirements; creates specifications and documentation to address those requirements; formalizes business process workflows; facilitates process improvement initiatives; conducts system testing (including cross-functional integration and end-user acceptance testing); and provides strategic insights on HCM and workforce management trends.
  • In collaboration with HR leadership and IT partners, the position contributes to the broader HR technology ecosystem that enables the full range of human resources activities, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, learning, talent development, compensation, and workforce administration. The role ensures continuity, compliance, and optimization of HR systems through business process analysis, system configuration, and functional integration across platforms.
