An Oracle Cloud end-to-end process implementation Data Conversion Lead plays a critical role in managing the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of legacy data into Oracle Cloud applications across the entire implementation lifecycle. This role demands both technical expertise and functional understanding of Oracle Cloud applications.
Core Skillsets of a Data Conversion Lead for Oracle Cloud Implementation:
1. Technical Skills
SQL, PL/SQL: Strong experience writing complex queries and procedures for data extraction and transformation.
Oracle BI Publisher / OTBI: For validation and reconciliation reports.
Data Load Utilities:
FBDI (File-Based Data Import)
ADFdi (ADF Desktop Integrator)
HDL (HCM Data Loader) for HCM modules
BULK API & Web Services for integration and automation
ETL Tools (preferred): Informatica, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Talend, etc.
Excel & Macros: For data mapping, transformation, and conversion templates.
2. Oracle Cloud Functional Knowledge
Understanding of Oracle Cloud Modules:
Finance (GL, AP, AR, FA, CM)
SCM (Inventory, Procurement, Order Management)
Projects (Optional based on implementation)
HCM (for HCM implementations)
End-to-End Business Process Understanding: Mapping legacy data to Oracle Cloud data model.
3. Project & Leadership Skills
Data Strategy & Planning:
Define data scope, wave-based conversion strategy (Mock loads, SIT, UAT, Cutover)
Team Coordination:
Coordinate with functional leads, legacy system SMEs, and Oracle implementation teams.
Issue Resolution:
Lead data reconciliation and validation efforts
Documentation:
Data mapping sheets, conversion strategy, reconciliation reports, error logs
