About the Role
One of our clients is seeking a skilled Critical Facilities Technician to join their operations team. This role is responsible for maintaining and operating critical and non-critical facility systems to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in both mechanical and electrical systems and thrives in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on critical and non-critical equipment.
- Operate and maintain HVAC, plumbing, generators, fire detection/suppression systems, life safety, temperature controls, building management systems, and digital systems (fire alarm, duress, card access, CCTV).
- Manage all electrical operations, including planning, implementation, coordination, and supervision of maintenance and energy management programs.
- Ensure compliance with change control processes and maintenance procedures (MOP/SOP/ERP).
- Monitor and operate facility systems, ensuring safe and compliant performance.
- Oversee work performed by contractors and service providers.
- Execute and document preventive and corrective maintenance work orders using a computerized maintenance management system.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concerns.
- Conduct building tours and inspections during scheduled shifts.
- Ensure materials are identified, ordered, and documented appropriately.
- Assign and monitor safe work responsibilities for employees and contractors.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in facility operations.
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma with 3-5 years' experience in electrical or mechanical critical facilities support, OR
- 7+ years' experience as an HVAC or mechanical/electrical technician.
- Electrical/Mechanical certifications preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Flexibility to work overtime as required.
