Job Description

ECS is seeking a Senior App Developer to work remotely .

The Senior Ap Developer (Cloud &AI) will serve as a leader for modernizing existing applications, moving to the cloud, and implementing artificial intelligence capabilities. This individual will assess existing applications, data, workflows, and utilize their knowledge and experience of cloud environment and AI technologies to enhance operational efficiency, automation, and decision support. The ideal candidate combines a strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) with hands-on experience deploying AI/ML models and integrating them into production environments. This role bridges strategy, architecture, and development - helping the Postal Service evolve from data-rich to insight-driven.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct enterprise-level assessment of current workflows, systems, and data architecture to identify opportunities for AI integration.
  • Design and prototype AI/ML solutions that improve automation, analytics, and decision-making within logistics, routing, maintenance, and service operations.
  • Evaluate and implement cloud-native AI/ML services (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, Google Vertex AI, etc.) for Postal Service use cases.
  • Partner with data engineering and cloud infrastructure teams to develop scalable, secure AI pipelines.
  • Create technical roadmaps and implementation frameworks for integrating AI into existing enterprise applications.
  • Develop proof-of-concept (POC) models and guide the transition to full-scale production deployment.
  • Define model monitoring, governance, and lifecycle management strategies to ensure compliance and ethical AI use.
  • Provide technical guidance to leadership on AI capabilities, resource requirements, and best practices.
  • Stay current with advancements in generative AI, computer vision, NLP, and automation to advise on future applications within the Postal Service mission space.
Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000

Required Skills

  • U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain Public Trust or higher clearance as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in application development using Python and Java.
  • Experience utilizing co-pilot, Github, and Kafka
  • Expertise with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and familiarity with their AI/ML service offerings.
  • Demonstrated experience modernizing legacy systems into the cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of data pipelines, APIs, microservices, and integration architectures.
  • Ability to assess organizational needs, develop technology roadmaps, and communicate complex solutions to technical and executive stakeholders.


Desired Skills

  • Experience in application development using C++, PLSQL
  • Prior experience supporting large federal agencies or enterprise modernization programs.
  • Knowledge of logistics-driven AI use cases.
  • Familiarity with data governance, model validation, and ethical AI frameworks.
  • Experience with generative AI and LLM deployment strategies.
