The Boeing Technology and Innovation (BTI) organizationlooking for Propulsion Engineerto join the Energy and Propulsion team in St. Louis, MO.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including : Mid-Level, Senior Level Propulsion Engineer.

The Energy and Propulsion team drives the future of aerospace by designing and integrating cutting-edge propulsion systems! In this role, you'll shape next-generation vehicles, lead hands-on testing and analysis, collaborate with suppliers, and mentor emerging engineers-all while ensuring our propulsion solutions exceed performance and regulatory standards.

Position Responsibilities
  • Defines, coordinates and controls the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle
  • Configures or designs propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all vehicle design and performance specifications
  • Contributes to or leads a range of testing, analysis, modeling, and simulation activities aimed at predicting and validating system performance
  • Development of concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements
  • Support development of specifications and architectural and configuration concepts for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Propulsion vendor management and coordination
  • Works independently under direction from Subject Matter Experts
  • Ability to mentor early career engineers

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3 years or more in applying knowledge of internal and external flow characteristics related to inlets, nozzles, and engine operation with the capability to perform propulsion system analysis tasks

Preferred qualifications
  • Ability to obtain addition accesses/clearances post hire
  • 9+ years of relevant work experience
  • Understanding of the interactions between propulsion, aerodynamics, and flight controls as part of a collaborative Flight Sciences engineering team
  • Foundational knowledge of gas turbine engine operation and thermodynamics
  • Experience with real world component and hardware integration
  • Experience with thermodynamic cycle modeling tools & methods

Summary Pay Range for Mid- Level: $112,200 - $151,800

Summary Pay Range for Senior: $136,850 - $185,150
