RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce Inc. is seeking a full-time Power Integrity Development Engineer to support our enterprise technology client in Austin, TX. Our client is hiring a senior-level engineer to lead the development and validation of power delivery (quality) from power stage to point of load for server power subsystems. This role offers the opportunity to drive industry-leading technology and collaborate with world-class experts in server systems and power integrity. Responsibilities span inception, implementation, and product field support.
About the Team:
The Power Team seeks candidates with strong fundamentals in power electronics, optimized PCB layout, and tuned capacitor solutions. Independence and self-starting ability are key.
Responsibilities:
* Define requirements and develop power delivery subsystems for next-gen enterprise server systems
* Perform electrical analysis on card and substrate packages, including DC and frequency/time domain analysis
* Verify DC and transient excitations meet system component tolerances
* Develop and execute verification plans, correlating simulations with measured hardware
* Work autonomously and deliver project phases on time and within budget
* Engage in continuous professional development and career progression
REQUIREMENTS:
* 5-7 years of experience in Power Design Development
* Proven experience in design, analysis, simulation, and validation of power integrity from power stage through PCB and module packaging to IC die
* Required tools: Cadence PCB Editor, Cadence/Sigrity PowerDC, PowerSI, OptimizePI, Synopsys Hspice, and/or Simplis
* Beneficial tools: Cadence Concept/HDL, Allegro Constraint Manager, TCL/UNIX shell scripting.
* Strong communication skills in cross-functional teams
* Experience from concept to qualification
* Lab support experience and logic debug skills
* Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and team-building skills
* Ability to identify issues, develop action plans, and adapt to changing requirements
Preferred Requirements:
* PhD in Power Electronics
* Experience with enterprise server systems development
* Basic software engineering (Perl, Bash, Shell scripts)
* Familiarity with statistical tools (e.g., JMP)
* Background in signal and power integrity
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
