IT financial Manager Overview

Step into a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of Finance and Technology. As IT Financial Manager, you'll shape the financial strategy behind a multi-billion-dollar enterprise's technology investments. You'll lead a cross-functional team responsible for planning, forecasting, cost transparency, and chargebacks across a portfolio exceeding hundreds of millions annually.

You'll collaborate with senior leaders across business and IT to drive smart investment decisions, promote financial accountability, and align spending with strategic priorities. You'll support a dynamic IT organization that includes Customer Experience, Enterprise Architecture, IT Engineering, Information Security, Infrastructure & Operations, and Strategy & Management. The department's mission is clear: empower every employee to do their best work, every day.

Key ResponsibilitiesDepartment Financial Strategy
  • Partner with executive leadership to define and execute financial goals for IT.
  • Embed financial best practices into daily operations and long-term planning.
  • Lead annual business planning and quarterly forecasting, translating initiatives into cost impacts.
  • Monitor monthly performance and analyze Run vs. Transform spending using the TBM framework.
  • Support strategic initiatives with ad hoc financial analysis and recommendations.
Financial Analysis & Training
  • Leverage accounting systems and reporting tools for accurate, actionable insights.
  • Foster financial literacy across IT by training service owners and product managers.
  • Conduct benchmarking and build cost models to guide data-driven decisions.
  • Coordinate with Accounting and other corporate teams to meet reporting requirements.
  • Present financial trends and deliver training to diverse audiences.
Corporate Reporting & Forecasting
  • Act as the primary liaison to corporate reporting teams.
  • Provide expert forecasting guidance for major initiatives and financial matters.
  • Share innovations and best practices across the enterprise.
  • Mentor emerging finance professionals and support their development.
Cost Transparency & Chargebacks
  • Ensure chargeback rates reflect consumption, cost structures, and behavioral goals.
  • Strengthen enterprise-wide understanding of chargeback data for better decision-making.
  • Advocate for fairness and transparency in cost recovery.
  • Design service cost allocation models aligned with business drivers and the TBM framework.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience; public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Strong communicator and self-starter with excellent organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Oracle and Microsoft Power BI.
  • CPA or MBA (additional credit given).
