Job Details
We're more than aviation experts, we're pioneers. We challenge what's possible. From breaking the sound barrier to advanced tiltrotor systems. Today, Bell is shaping the future of aviation through specialized engineering. And we want you.
We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA), part of the US Army's Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold tilt-rotor.
These positions are onsite in Fort Worth, TX and at the SIL in Arlington, TX.
Avionics Integration Test Engineer:
Come work with some of the most innovative and talented teams to integrate and test complex vehicle management and mission systems. As a world class platform integrator, you will ensure that all the aircraft systems and software meet design and safety requirements for the most efficient and safe systems for the pilots and crew. At Bell you will work with suppliers and customers, to test mission requirements with the latest technology and modular architectures.
Bring your experience and ideas and help us test the cockpits of the future in our world class test facilities and full Systems Integration labs (SIL). You will be verifying integration of sensors, communication, navigation, and autonomy of manned and optionally manned aircraft.
You'll work with test pilots and technicians to test the next generation of aircraft systems. This role will be an integral part of the team, working closely with customers and subcontractors. You'll be able to hone your technical abilities on significant engineering problems, all while gaining experience in leadership and communication.
What You'll Be Doing as an Avionics Integration Test Engineer:
Working with systems and software test engineers responsible for integration test requirements, traceability management; validation and verification of systems and subsystems per component specifications; interface management; system safety tracing; validation and verification testing in systems integration labs; and aircraft flight test.
Test Avionics and Mission Systems including Bell developed software packages and supplier IMA developed software at a SIL integration level per customer requirements and MIL Standards. Develop test cases and procedures as the HLR requirements are being developed and validated in coordination with Avionics integration team.
Evaluation of supplier's test artifacts and test schedules. Work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams to define and solve problems as they arise during test and eval of the integrated systems.
Skills You Bring To this Role:
At least 2 years of experience with the embedded hardware and software integration of Avionics and Mission Systems testing in a SIL environment.
Understand certification of airborne system/software processes (DO-178C, DO-297, DO-326, DO-254, and ARP 4754A).
Scripting experience using C# or Python for building automated test procedures and gathering test results
Knowledge of communication standards such as ARINC 429, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, MIL-1553 and Networking (TCP/IP, TSN, DDS).
Experience with Git (or similar) version control system, managing tasks within an Agile work environment and familiar with Cameo for MBSE requirements management.
What You Need to Be Successful:
Bachelor's degree with a Major in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
Must be able to gain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance
What We Offer You in Return:
