Title: Manager I, Project

Plans and manages a variety of technology projects; communicates the plan to the district stakeholders, the vendor, and the project team; prepares itemized cost centers and purchase order requests; oversees project implementation processes and maintains documentation on all project details.

Essential Functions:

Manages all phases of multiple technology projects from Initiation through closing by effectively applying standard project management processes, procedures, and methodologies as designed by the PMO.
Identifies resources and assigns individual responsibilities; provides necessary training as needed.
Prepares budgets and makes recommendations as needed; manages project budget through constant communication with the Budget Specialist to ensure the project is always within budget.
Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project based on scope.
Manages the vendor management process from acquiring quotes to managing the schedule to managing daily project onsite work.
Prepares and reviews project deliverables with the team before passing on to the project sponsor.
Minimizes risk through frequent reviews, testing, and quality assurance procedures.
Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Trains and manages the work of entry-level project managers as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in Business, Project Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related area is required.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in information technology project development, implementation, and management is required.
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or closely related certification approved by PMI is preferred.
