Job Details

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the overall injection molding process. The Injection molding engineer should ensure that the molded components meet requirements and provide the parts in a timely manner to meet production schedules.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Operate injection molding and support equipment.
2. Providing molded components in a timely manner to meet production schedules.
3. Managing raw mold material to ensure traceability, shelf life, and prevent contamination.
4. Analyze / interpret inspection data for process and tool optimization.
5. Identify manufacturing resource requirements and prepare plans for product and process realization.
6. Ensure proper process control documentation and lessons learned information is generated for assigned projects.
7. Support continuous improvement projects in the plastics value stream.

8. All other duties assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

1. Education: Associate's Degree in an engineering or other technical discipline required. A Bachelor's degree in a technical field is preferred. In lieu of degree, 12 years of experience developing and validating injection molding processes for engineered plastic materials.
2. Experience: No experience required with a Bachelor's degree. 2 years of experience with an Associate's. Experience developing & validating injection molding processes for engineered plastic materials required. Hands-on experience operating injection molding equipment on the shop floor, and a desire to be in a hands-on technical role, working alongside operators is required.
3. Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise with injection molding processes, materials, tooling, robots, and equipment troubleshooting. In-depth understanding of Injection molding of thermoplastics. Scientific Molding including viscosity studies on tools is preferred. Strong understanding of material flow.
4. Skills: Communication, Project Management, Problem & Solving Skills, Time management, Collaboration skills, Attention to details.
Technical skills: A strong understanding of the injection molding process and the use of all injection molding equipment to include robotics.
5. Domestic role. No direct interaction with HQ or region.

6. All employees must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
