Job Description

ECS is seeking a Computer Operator to work in our Memphis, TN office.

We are seeking to fill a Computer Operator position.
Responsibilities:
  • Works independently at times in carrying out most assignments and needs guidance from supervisor.
  • Monitor, research, analyze and report problems to programmer or developer.
  • Create/edit/resolve Change Requests/Incidents using ServiceNow reporting tool.
  • Perform application/hardware monitoring using enterprise level monitoring tools.
  • Follow on-call instructions and notification procedures.
  • Monitor batch scheduling processes using BMC Control-M scheduling software.
  • Monitor/analyze mainframe processes using JCL and MVS commands.


Required Skills

  • High School Diploma with some post-secondary education considered a plus.
  • Ten+ years computer operation in lieu of post-secondary education
  • JCL
  • IBM Z/OS mainframe knowledge and MVS commands
  • In depth knowledge of Bach job scheduling software (BMC Control-M a plus)
  • Knowledge of Change/Help Desk tools (ServiceNow a plus)
  • Application/hardware monitoring
  • UNIX/Linux/Windows knowledge.
  • High communication skills
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in a positive professional manner, have experience in a leadership position, have the ability to accept direction, understand new concepts and handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Must be a self-motivated, well-rounded, organized, detail oriented individual with sound problem-solving skills and the ability to positively influence other employees.
  • Must be able to maintain accurate records. Individual must be a team leader and be both safety and security conscious with a high reliability.
  • Ability to process phone requests in a professional manner, including setup and facilitation of conference bridges.
  • Troubleshoot problems and assist in problem resolution to maintain productivity levels.
  • Familiarity with security best practices, data privacy regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of Information Systems and Cloud Computing Security controls
  • Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Will be responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of online computer systems.
