IT Infrastructure Project Manager, 2-4 Month Contract, Hybrid, Washington, DC
We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Project Manager for a Technology Infrastructure Project. The IT Infrastructure Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of a modern, modular technology initiative designed to enhance association management capabilities. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to facilitate collaboration across teams. This is a Hybrid position with some onsite in Washington, DC required. This is a 2 - 4-month contract opportunity working 20-30 hours per week during core hours.
IT Infrastructure Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily project activities, including communication, scheduling, and work intake, to ensure consistent progress and cross-team alignment.
- Facilitate backlog refinement and prioritization discussions with the Accountability Team, ensuring member and user value, effort, and cost are considered in decision-making.
- Distribute weekly workstream updates detailing accomplishments, in-progress work, upcoming priorities, and known challenges, maintaining transparency and progress visibility.
- Lead bi-weekly synchronization meetings with the Accountability Team to review backlog status, prioritization, risks, and user feedback.
- Support the Core Team (Executive Sponsors) by preparing monthly reviews on strategic alignment, timeline expectations, and organizational impact.
- Deliver periodic staff-facing updates summarizing major improvements, known issues, and upcoming changes.
- Ensure effective governance and communication processes, promoting realistic expectations and staff engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
IT Infrastructure Project Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in project management, information technology, or a related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desired.
- Proven experience managing technology projects involving cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with an emphasis on transparency and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment and adapt to evolving organizational needs.
- Experience with backlog management, agile methodologies, or modular technology architecture is preferred.
No benefits as this is a Contract position.
